Hi SarahI just found this on my laptop and I think it never went out. So I am sending it. I originally wrote this back in May 2008. Skye is over a year now and wonderful.
It’s Doug and Eve and Skye. Just wanted to drop you a line about how great he is doing.
His trainer for manners worked with us at the course and told us we are on our own after 5 sessions. He said Skye is really special – funny the same comment you made. He loves working. He just roams around with Doug all day. We did have a few incidents where he wouldn’t listen but it is far and few between. Seems he has settled in nicely.
He visits with my family and is well behaved in their homes. Mom just loves him.
I had to get him the crate for 70 + pounds as he is quite tall – or long. He grew out of the medium crate in a month. He is about 52 pounds and runs like the wind.
We take him 3 times a day and he runs from one end of the course and back faster than my golf cart. Doesn’t bother the golfers but loves to chase Squirrels. My customers are quite used to seeing him at full speed going from hole to hole.
He has already learned to move the Geese. He has cleaned up the course nicely. We have a lake on the course and he loves going in. Doesn’t yet swim, just wades along the shore. I am sure as it gets warmer he’ll swim so I purchased him the vest for him.
He does not require a crate in the evenings. He does use it on and off but prefers to sleep in a bed I purchased for him. Doesn’t mess and sleeps through the evening.
He really is a pleasure. Thank you for your wonderful choice. We’ll take good care of him.
