Jessie has really settled in a lot this week. I think we've finally nailed the housebreaking. That's really been more us learning when she needs to go out - she's doing great. This is a relief as it was my least favorite party of puppyhood!
She did great at the beach last weekend (other than (only) two accidents in the new condo!). Every walk was a chance to meet someone and to meet a new dog. She did love sleeping out on the porch all day - what a sleepy pooch!
We had a volleyball playoff party last night so we took her and that was great. LOTS of new people to meet including some young, fairly rough kids. She was so patient! Then there were the dog lovers that just cuddled with her on their laps, so she got both ends of the spectrum.
She's been doing great during the week, settles down nicely in her crate during the day. Colin gets home around 3:00 and he's been great with her in the afternoon. All good! There are times when she whines, I think it's been an adjustment for her to be in the crate with no one or no other dogs around. At some point we'll bring her upstairs to sleep with us. For now, she gets up too early as it is, I'd hate for her to wake up because one of us rolls over!! But I know she's lonely down there. Seems not to mind too much if she's really pooped by bed time. I've also figured out that she's better if I stay in the room for a bit after we put her in the crate. We're all learning!
She finally met the cats. For the first week I don't think she even knew there was any other animal in the house! There's lots of bushy tails and lots of running away and one "get away from me" swat, but they'll be fine. At least she acts normally around them, not all frantic or agressive.
She is growing!!
