Adoption Update: Pip!

Sarah,
I am thrilled with Pip, she is doing so well, all most as if she has always been with me. She met the owner's dog on Saturday and they played in a secured area. She came inside and met a co-worker and immediately sat down for pets. She checked out her new living quarters and likes going out on the balcony. She lets me know when she needs to go out by going to the door and softly crying.
I worked Sunday and she was great with the guests--she only tried to jump up once.Everyone comments on how pretty she is . Sunday afternoon my daughter and ten year old grandson came down and we went for a short walk around the corner to the cheese and deli shop.
Besides my previous dog, Pip is the only other dog it be allowed in the shop. She went in and sat down by the owners. They were impressed and so was I. Perhaps she knew they would give her turkey.
We have a rabbit and a couple of squirrels who hang out and she wants to keep returning to where she saw them. Hopefully, the rabbit will not come back, it always eats our flowers and my other dog just ignored it. Pip did not try to chase it but she was very excited. I have shut the gate a couple of times and let her off leash to play ball. She brings it right back and drops it. I have a chair that my dog, Patterson sat on---I have washed the slipcovers a couple of times, however Pip wants to curl up there.
I am taking your advice about learning/teaching what is good and bad behavior and she is learning. I imagine after we are both well trained, I will let her on the chair.
I use the computer at work so my daughter will probably be sending you photos soon.
It was great to meet you and your daughter.
Regards, Peggy
