Hey Katy!
Beagan is doing WONDERFULLY!! He is such a source of joy for Eric and me. He is a very different dog than you will remember, however. He has gained a little weight, so he is no longer just a little bag of bones, his coat is black, shiny and long, and his energy levels have skyrocketed. He is still very lovey-dovey and affectionate; he just steals everyone's heart! Though it took us over a year (yes, a year), we finally have a handle on the peeing issue. It turned out to be an emotional issue rather than a behavioral issue. But his confidence is growing more and more every day, and I smile to think about where he will be a year from now. His growing confidence has also enabled him to be in the presence of men without feeling the need to be defensive, and has allowed him to interact with other dogs in a healthy way.
We have been doing obedience training with him (not for show, just for structure and fun), and he has taken to it beautifully. He is so intelligent, and is a very fast learner. I think the sky is the limit with this little guy!
He gets to see his best friend, Abby, at least 4-5 days a week, and his presence has changed both of their lives. Abby has dropped 5 pounds and is so healthy and vibrant that the vet cannot believe that she is 10 years old. I think that Abby has helped him with all of his issues by just loving him and being his favorite playmate. They are awesome together.
So, overall, we just love having him around, and, dare I say, I think he loves being around us. He has come so far in the year and a half that he's been a part of our family, and I think he is just going to make us happier and happier every day that goes by.
Attached are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for checking in on him!
Jackie
