Adoption Update: Annie (formerly Tweet)

Tweet -- now Annie is fitting in so well. I was worried about how long it would take Badger, our English Shepherd, to adjust but Annie has him pretty convinced she’s a good thing. I can honestly say we have had no problems with her at all. Not one accident, not one mis-chewed item that wasn’t a supervision fault. The foster family gave her such a fantastic start in life. She sits quickly, settles easily, loves everyone and my favorite -- has great bounce back. You can see her BC genes kick in when she locks on to her food bowl waiting for a release or when a moth flies by but otherwise she redirects very easily without being too pushy. When I found her INSIDE the chicken yard the birds were fine and she hasn’t met any poop she won’t eat and even grasshoppers need to beware. Although she was in full puppy mode when she encountered the honeybee hive and got quite a few stings as a result, that hasn’t stopped her from going back to the same area.

Getting Annie has really helped me to appreciate Badger so much more as well. Not just because he suddenly seems so very mellow, but because it helps me to see him more for himself instead of trying to make sure he is doing the BEST. Adopting another dog has really taken the pressure off in my own mind about expectations.

Annie is truly a joy to watch and helps the whole family to lighten up and enjoy her goofy antics -- from carrying around her food bowl, being totally thrilled with water, to being totally confounded by the food dispensing toys that Badger has mastered.

Thanks so much too for the great support, communication and smooth adoption process. You guys really go above and beyond and do such good work. Thank you!

Megan

It's nice to hear that Annie is doing so well! It's amazing all the traits she has from her Mom, my Keira. From her looks to her actions.

Congratulations on adopting such a great girl!
