Hi Sarah,
I wanted to update you on our wonderful girl.
First, we have named her Molly. She is doing very well. She LOVES her yard: she likes to run around, play ball, watch the birds and airplanes overhead and roll around in the grass. She will also dig so she needs to be supervised so the behavior can be corrected.
She is doing well with housebreaking and will vocalize when she needs to go out. She has learned that the cat is not going to play with her no matter how much she wants him too, although she is still interested in Rocky. But they have brokered peace and it happened fairly quickly, which is great.
Molly loves all of her toys: squeaky, furry, treat-releasing, Kong, beef bones, etc. We are working on our leash-walking skills but does a little better each time. She likes walking in the park, and I take her down to the water line (along Cooper River) where the cars are not a distraction. She is eager to meet new people, including kids, and new dogs.
A friend brought her two dogs this week for a play date. Molly was uncertain with the husky (young and very high energy) but did OK with her small dog. After some time together she gained more confidence and the three shared the yard together. I have made contact with someone who has a one year old dog that needs socialization. We are arranging a play date and if it goes well, will set up a regular schedule. She sleeps in her crate in the next room at night without any whining. We are working on her greeting skills as she wants to ‘hug’ everyone she meets. She has learned to give ‘paw’ and is a very smart girl.
I attached a picture of her for you to see. I will continue to send pictures and updates. Thank you for our wonderful girl…we promise to take excellent care of her.
Best regards,
Christina
