Adoption Update: Beck (was Willie)

Hi Sarah,
Time to send you a new update on the Beck man.
Beck is all legs and if you look at him from the front he reminds me of an old clothespin!, no width in that little chest at all yet. Over the summer we did an Agility Foundation class with lots of clicker work. All behaviors, things that could relate to training down the road. Of course he did great… a learning sponge. Not moving into more agility right yet. Since he was neutered early I want him to mature physically before we get into that. At the moment he’s started doing World Cynosport Rally with Wiley and Tootsie. Of course he gets sheep time when Wiley has a lesson.
August 30th our dog club held its first rally trial. Beck was entered in Puppy, a class for dogs 6 months to 1 year. If he could get a qualifying score before his first birthday, he would have an additional 6 months to complete his Puppy title and gain experience. The exercises are the same as found in Level 1 but the course is half the length. I thought he could do it but he’s a puppy so I had no expectations. The energy level and distraction level at a trial are much different than at a class. Beck did MABCR proud earning a score of 209 out of a possible 210 and a first place. I’ve attached a picture of Beck with his first ribbons.
