Milo Gets a Beer

MABCR Alum Milo has learned how to get his mum a beer! Milo was one of the Tennesse 7, he was Widget, also known as the "Ice Cream Pup". Kudos to Chris and Karen for teaching him this fun trick! Tricks like this are complicated to teach, but really fun and great for the dogs!

Adoption Update: Milo (was Widget)

Milo is very popular in our community, they call him the green dog because he has learned to recycle plastic water bottles in the park. We're going to get it on video next time.

It may be dangerous for us to stop by the farm, Milo is so great I'm trying to talk Chris into adopting another one.

Happy Got Day Milo!!!

'Morning Sarah.

Today is Milo's Got Day -- 2 years now he's been a part of our family. What a special boy he is. He has become such a love bug -- our pet sitter is crazy about him too and keeps asking when we're going away!

Thank you again for helping me through his first months of adjustment. You have a knack for knowing who belongs together and I'm so thankful you chose him for me. He's my shadow, my constant companion. You've given me my best friend.

Here are a couple of pictures -- one is Milo "consulting" with me from the day bed in the home office. He grins a lot! The other is running on the beach (one of his favorite activities) with one of his Airedale brothers, Murphy.

Tom often comments on what a happy boy he is.

Adoption Update: Milo

Hi Sarah,

Hope all is well with you! I'm so glad the spring break adventure was such a success. I really wish I lived closer and could be more hands-on.

Wanted to let you know Milo and I finished another class -- this one was a pre-novice rally. I'm going to enroll him in the next rally class this summer. He seemed much more comfortable in a class situation than the last one (beginner's obedience). He's come a long way in gaining his confidence. And I'm learning how to "read" him better too. I could tell when he was bored, tired, annoyed, or ready to shut down. Mostly he got bored pretty quickly. Go figure -- a border collie who gets bored easily!

Some friends from my pet therapy group and I went to the Westminster dog show this year. I brought back a hat for Tom but I think it looks great on Milo. Don't you think he'd make a good spokesdog for Pedigree? :-)
