Adoption Update: Phoebe -- formerly Toni

Toni/Phoebe is such a smart little dog, and totally fearless. She has already gone kayaking with me. She did jump out of the boat once (floated fine in her flowered pfd which was tethered to me), but no wiggling or crying. She has been geocaching with us. She met a new dog friend. She has been to my office where she was a great hit and to the organic veggie stand where she gets free cookies. She is fascinated by toads and she barks back at barking treefrogs. She learned how to open the porch door in one day. I also believe her persistence will win out and eventually Moss (our BC) will allow her to snug. He has already allowed her to steal all of his toys. I am looking forward to seeing how she does on our sail boat.

Adoption Update: Phoebe!!

Hello, Sarah!

Phoebe will celebrate the second anniversary of her "Got Day" and her fifth birthday on April 14.

She has made tremendous strides in developing social skills and self-confidence, having passed to CGC level of clicker-training obedience class. She's learned numerous tricks and is highly food motivated. She enjoys long walks and hikes in the city and country, especially when topped off with a visit to her favorite neighborhood pet shops. She's expanded the repertoire of toys she plays with and shows a mischievous streak in her games. We hope to enroll her in a fun agility class this spring. We're still working on resource-guarding issues (with me as the resource) and shyness around some new people.

On a sadder note, we had to send Abraham (14+year-old BC mix and Annie's soulmate) to cross Rainbow Bridge. If you have a young or adult sweet-natured, medium or large male who enjoys walking, hiking and cuddling and who you think would do well with Phoebe and her quirks, please let us know.

Regards,

Maureen and Victor
