Junior Farm Day November 11 2012

You asked and we listened!!!!

Sunday, November 11, we will have a Junior Work Day especially tailored to volunteers 16 and under. All are welcome (yes, please come!!) but we will have an extra special project just for smaller hands.

We will be planting flower bulbs under the Crape Myrtles that line the front of the play yard fence. We will try and mulch as well. We may even do a bit of gate beautification if we have enough volunteers that day.

The same day, we will also have a Collies and Coffee, along with Pot Luck snacking.

The Work Day will begin at about 11am. If you would like to help, please bring garden or work gloves, and a spade or shovel or bulb planter. If you don't have any tools, that's fine, I have some.

Please bring a bag of bulbs of your choosing (I'm hoping the kids will have fun deciding what they want to plant, and then planting the bulbs). We will have bulbs here as well, and there is a lot of room to plant so folks can choose their spots. Any type of fall planting bulbs are fine. They will all blend together and be beautiful, I am sure.

After bulb planting (and mulching) we will have Pot Luck Snacks (fingery foods that are filling, but don't need forks or knives to eat with) so please bring something yummy to share. Veggies and dip, cut fruit, cheese and crackers, roll ups, etc are all good things to consider. I'll have bottled water here.

Collies and Coffee will begin in the early afternoon. PLEASE be certain your dog LOVES children. This day is for the kids, it is important that everyone have a good time. Please be prepared to give your dog a time out if needed, a crate in your car will help there.

We hope you'll consider joining us for the day. Please let me know if you plan to come so we get a head count.

Bring friends if you'd like, and cross your paws for a beautiful fall day!!! In the event of bad weather, I'll announce via this blog by 9am Sunday morning if the event is canceled or postponed.
