Adoption Update: Molly (was Holly)

Hello everyone!

The new addition to our home (we've started calling her Molly) is settling in nicely.  We've signed her up for her first 8 week training class starting next Saturday at the Coventry School in Columbia.  She's pretty good with sit/lay down and a partial roll over.  We're still working on leash walking and jumping.

Delilah has taken to her new friend quite nicely.  We've already taken several trips to a safe off-leash area and they've had a blast.  Check out a short video I shot to see how much fun they are having!  Delilah is definitely enjoying having Molly around.  Just the other day, I saw Delilah chase a frisbee I threw for Molly.  This may not sound like much, but for a dog that previously showed no interest in toys, it was quite a development!  I hardly recognize the Delilah in that video!

We're off to our first group trip to the dog park.  Wish us luck!

Regards,

~Seth

Adoption Update: Gemma (formerly Holly)

 Hi Rachelle,

"Holly" is actually Gemma now.. named after the Sons of Anarchy matriarch biker. I figured they were both survivors of the streets with scars and since I am a Harley rider... well...!
Gemma has gone from complete terror in the home to almost completely secure. Not only does she no longer retreat to the end of her leash when greeting people, but she goes to them willingly, although VERY slowly, but she goes TO them!

Gemma has not an angry or malicious bone in her body. She is an old, gentle soul. I could not have made my own concoction of border collie in a test tube better!
Gemma LOVES anything outdoors. I wanted a trail running partner , as I run 25-40 miles a week on trails, however I broke my leg , (on a trail) the first week I got Gemma. S o she has not had that exposure fully yet! She is mellow and peaceful in the home, a pleasure on the leash, a crazed lunatic runningy 5 acres with my old Aussies, and has a desire to please that doesn't quit.

Guess I'm sayin, Gemma(holly) is a keeper! I'm SO grateful. I can NEVER replace my true love Callie, my BC of almost 13 years... but Gemma has what it takes to steal the heart!

Live strong, Speak the truth.

And Her Name Is....

Thanks to everyone who made name suggestions. The name game is fun to play and I have noted some great new names to add to our list.

Little girl now has a name, but not one of the suggested names. Yesterday I noticed that she is wearing a necklace. Yes, I know lots of border collies have a collar, but this one is thin, extremely symmetrical and circles her neck very evenly (you can see it in the photo below)...she also has a little diamond shape spot on her neck over the 'necklace'...so, her name is Holly, as in Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's. I think it suits.
