This is great news for dogs who have suffered adverse reactions to rabies vaccines, and for debilitated senior dogs (who have perhaps the longest history or previous vaccinations, the least risk of coming into contact with rabid animals, AND the most risk of suffering side effects of the rabies vaccine). Rabies Vaccination and The Law - Whole Dog Journal Blog Article
Rabies Vaccination and The Law - Whole Dog Journal Blog Article: "I saw a news item over the weekend announcing that my state’s governor (California’s Jerry Brown) signed “Molly’s Bill” (AB 258), exempting certain dogs from the rabies vaccine requirement. MANDATORY SPAY/NEUTER PREREQUISITE FOR RETAIL PET SALES IN PHILADELPHIA, PA
A Philadelphia, PA city ordinance, banning animal retailers from selling any dog or cat that has not been sterilized, was signed into law on May 25, 2011 and became effective immediately. Anyone who sells an unsterilized dog or cat will receive a fine and could be forced to cease operations for up to one year. The ordinance also increases dog licensing fees, adds recordkeeping requirements for animal retailers and provides standards of care requirements for animal owners and kennels.
