Sheila
Sheila came to us through cooperation with another rescue. A family of dogs had been left behind when their human family moved. Neighbors stepped in, contacted rescue and helped get the dogs into caring hands. Largely unsocialised, the transformation occurred (as it does with all dogs) and two of the three dogs have been placed. Still waiting for her perfect forever home is Sheila:
Sheila is a sweet young border collie cattle dog cross who has really come a long while at
her foster home. When she first arrived
she was afraid of everything and everyone!
She desperately needed to gain confidence. It has taken some time, but she is a
completely different dog. She
interacts with my pack with a lot of confidence. She entices them to play now, and gets along
great with all of them. She also gets
along with the two cats. She greets humans with confidence as well. She no
longer runs and hides. She
no longer stays in her crate all evening, she prefers to hang out with the gang now while were
watching tv, usually falling asleep snuggled up to my feet.
Sheila has an incredible recall, considering her rough start
in life. She takes correction well (must
be given softly). Sheila is house broken and crate trained.
Sheila absolutely loves running outside! She is most happiest when she’s playing chase
with my other dogs, and will do best living in a home with other dogs. She is incredible
fast, and can outrun all of my dogs. She is very athletic and can jump 6 feet in the air from standing still.
Sheila has not been exposed to children so will not be offered to a home with young children residing in the home.
If you have a kind heart and some patience for a sweet young
girl, then Sheila is your gal!
Sheila will do best in a quiet home with strong human leadership and a solid dog leader. Training and socialisation will be important to her continued growth and development.
