Adoption Update: Jake!

Hi Sarah,
I just got your note regarding help for MABCR, and sent along what I could afford.
I've been meaning to write to you about what a wonderful companion Jake has become. It took him a little while to settle in as expected, but he is an absolutely marvelous dog. He has been a great help with my little flock of sheep, and also the chickens and ducks around here. He's learned where they all belong and if they are not in their appointed area, he makes sure they all head directly back. He's still needs more work and maturity for working with the sheep, I wish that he would be as patient with them as he is with the birds. But he just loves to make the flock run.
I feel sorry for the fellow who gave him up because he wouldn't swim, with very little effort he has gotten over his fear of water and now swims like a fish. Sometimes it's hard to get him out of the pond, and I pity the goose who is foolish enough to try and land here.
As my lab, Snoop, who is turning 13 next week is becoming more frail, I have been thinking about getting another Border Collie. Jake needs a buddy that can keep up with him. I just can't decide whether to get an older more experienced dog or a pup.
Oh well, I probably won't do anything till spring so I can procrastinate on deciding a while longer.
Have a nice holiday.
Chris
